We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Analytics Chief Operating Officer – Occupancy Lead & Delivery Manager
Department Overview:
The Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) function is part of the wider Digital Business Services (DBS) Organization led by HSBC’s COO. There are four primary DCOO services:
Strategic Sourcing Services – strengthening our commercial relationships with key suppliers and automating the supply chain lifecycle, with the outcome of improving long-term partnerships and the end-to-end supplier life-cycle
Corporate Services – delivering a great employee and workplace experience with a focus on the future of work, estate management, Business Continuity and resolution planning
Transformation Services – creating value for the customer and the business by accelerating and delivering change. Also includes DCOO Business Intelligence & Insights (BI&I) capability
ServCo – set up in 2014 in response to regulatory objectives. It is formed of 19 operational ServCo legal entities and 2 branches globally. Delivers a service catalogue made-up of c.350 functional services, from management of the entire DBS technology landscape to operational business

Responsibilities:
The DCOO Business Intelligence & Insights (BI&I) Occupancy Lead & Delivery Manager will be a key member of the BI&I team responsible for providing program/project management, consultancy, coordination and day to day workload management of the DCOO BI&I developers and analysts, in an agile manner:
Act as a Product Owner for the suite of HSBC Building Utilization / Occupancy data & insights, actively own product roadmap and proactively identify ways to enhance the offering to exceed stakeholder expectations
Lead the design & Agile delivery of data driven intelligence and insights to DCOO stakeholders through a combination of interactive and intuitive dashboards/tools, scenario models, trending and forecasting
Extensive engagement with users for understanding & translating their requirements into user friendly dashboards. Act as a ‘trusted advisor’ to DCOO senior management delivering data driven insights that count, enabling delivery against strategic outcomes
Leads the development team through development, test, implementation and completion stages of a project
Collaborates and consults with data suppliers and golden source owners to develop solutions
Organizes team workload to ensure priority deliverables are delivered within agreed time, cost and quality parameters
Manages internal and external stakeholder relationships in support of BI&I deliverables; may contract and manage third parties
Works closely with wider DCOO teams (Regions), Business Analysts and Project Leads to empower our lines of business with robust business intelligence
Provides consultation on complex medium to large scale projects that integrate into an overall BI&I pipeline of activities
Ensures timely and appropriate management of problems with escalations as needed
Responsible for benefit tracking on BI&I deliverables/projects
Responsible for ensuring that there is robust documentation on assigned BI&I deliverables/projects
Responsible for leading project demos, playbacks, UAT and user feedback sessions
Responsible for oversight on projects in BAU stage along with leading continuous improvement efforts
Support the BI&I Head delivering the BI&I strategy and operating model underpinning it
Provide outside-in perspectives & lead ongoing research and application of the latest analytics technologies, to deliver cutting edge business intelligence & insights solutions
Facilitates meetings to review active and pending development objectives
Support onboarding of new joiners in the team as required
Requirements
Essential:
A minimum of 5 years of project managing transformation projects
Proven experience of deploying Agile delivery models and best practice
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and comfortable working with senior management
Expert analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a global matrix-style organization
Demonstrate a passion for research and data, inspiring the same within the team; be proactive, take initiative and work independently
Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on strategic deliverables
Strong process skills, negotiating, decision-making and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability in project management processes, tools and techniques
Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
Desirable:
Good working knowledge of DCOO functional areas e.g. Corporate Real Estate in an operational or consulting capacity
Strong commercial acumen with an appreciation of how data emerging from various occupancy tools/technologies can be relevant to support key business decisions and efficiency
Ability to demonstrate knowledge, experience & credibility across key analytics domains e.g. Data Visualization, Data Science concepts (Machine Learning, NLP), data modelling etc.
Industry knowledge on technology and tools in the BI / Analytics / Data domain including Cloud providers
Strong knowledge of HSBC’s data landscape, with a strategic view of the tools available and in use
